Most press-ons that pop off in three days were not glued badly. They were the wrong size. A nail that is even a millimetre too wide sits on your skin instead of your nail, lifts at the edge the first time you wash your hands, and takes water underneath. Sizing is the ten minutes that decides whether you get three days or two weeks.
Why a set comes with 32 nails
You only wear 10, so the other 22 are there to fit you. Every VitaNails set has 16 sizes, two of each, from a wide thumb to a narrow pinky, so a matching pair for each finger is always there. That is why you size once, write it down, and never think about it again on reorders.
Step 1: Size dry, before anything else
Do this on clean, bare nails before you open the adhesive tabs. Hold each press-on against your natural nail at the widest point, just above the cuticle. The press-on should sit edge to edge on your nail with no overhang onto the skin on either side.
Step 2: When in doubt, go smaller
If you are between two sizes, take the smaller one. A slightly narrow nail still bonds fully and looks natural. A slightly wide one touches skin, lifts and goes. If the gap at the sides bothers you, a swipe of the file on the larger size brings it in, but that is a last resort.
Step 3: Write down your ten
Most people are not symmetrical; a right index is often one size up from the left. Note the ten numbers in your phone. Next order, you skip this page.

Step 4: Shape the tip before you apply, never after
If the length is more than you want, file the tip of the press-on before you put it on. Shortening after application weakens the bond at the free edge. Shape is a style choice; width is not negotiable.
If one falls off anyway
If it was the right width, the cause is oil. Alcohol-wipe the natural nail, press the tab from the cuticle out for 15 seconds, and keep the hand dry for an hour. The full application routine is in How long do press-on nails last.
